The Sandbox, a decentralized gaming virtual world and part of Animoca Brands, has decided to open its first-ever pop-up shop in Hong Kong. This is to support the growth of its user base in the city. The Sandbox Alpha 3 Atelier, which is on the fifth floor of K11 MUSEA in Tsim Sha Tsui, will have seminars led by experienced local design firms, long discussions about the metaverse, and new video content on big screens.
This summer, Hong Kongers will be able to play and make money in the Sandbox for a long time by doing a variety of new things.
If people sign up for an account at The Sandbox Alpha 3 Atelier, they can get rewards from the shop’s ongoing promotions. Participants will have the chance to win a 1×1 LAND and an NFT house that was made by our metaverse studio.
The co-founder and chief operating officer of The Sandbox, Sebastien Borget, said, “With the release of The Sandbox Alpha 3 Atelier, we are excited to welcome even more users in Hong Kong to explore a truly open metaverse and try out new activities.”
So that everyone can be creative and build their own dream in the metaverse, Borget said, “We have asked a wide range of partners to come up with new ways for users to make avatars, which are their own digital identities, and get more involved.”
Workshops from local studios like Index Game, Pangu by Kenal, Metalympics, and UFO School are planned for a wide range of people, including schoolchildren, college students, adults, and the staff of top business organizations. The University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, the NFT Association of Hong Kong, the Rotary Club of Elite Orient, and other schools and educational institutions are taking part in this project.
In May, the telecommunications companies PCCW and HKT joined forces with The Sandbox to buy a virtual plot of land in Mega City that was based on Hong Kong and to enter the metaverse. After buying a Hong Kong-inspired neighborhood in The Sandbox, the two companies will work together to create the first virtual 5G mobile network. They will also change traditional film, TV, and music into a new form of entertainment that can be accessed through Web3.
PCCW and HKT can also look for new business opportunities through this partnership. The two companies also agreed to add more cutting-edge financial, healthcare, and eCommerce solutions to create an interesting virtual “metacommunity” that will give 5G users a completely new way to enjoy entertainment.
