The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Survives 20 Minutes Under Water

We admit – we were slightly disappointed when it turned out the Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge weren’t waterproof. Don’t get us wrong, these handsets are a couple of great devices, but we were counting on this feature, especially since the Galaxy S5 was waterproof. However, it seems that the S6 Edge has some water resistance in it, after all, because it recently survived 22 minutes under water.

Seeing that the Galaxy S6 Edge wasn’t advertised as waterproof, it’s quite impressive that it managed to hold out for those 20+ minutes. So why should this be important to you? Well, if you accidentally drop your S6 Edge into water (it happens to the best of us, and you know it), and get it out immediately, there’s a good chance it will continue working as usual.

We do not recommend that you try the test at home, however, because there were a couple of issues with the phone after it. Namely, the smartphone’s display stopped working properly, and the S6 Edge started rebooting randomly. You can check out the video of the test below.

The Galaxy S6 Edge comes with a curved edge display (5.1”), 3GB of RAM, 32/64/128GB of storage, a 16MP camera, and a 2,600mAh battery. It will be available in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, and Green Emerald.
