The Roster- 2013 MUST have Fashion Items
As a fellow fashionista, I know that a new year means new style, new risks and a more pronounced sense of fashion. With those new pair of shoes, jean jacket or accessories, you could be a better version of yourself that you even you never thought existed.Or if you have some of these items already, you might want to think twice before you throw them out. I have done my research and compiled a list of fashion items; both old AND new that I think you should have in your closet to start the new year right and The Roster is in!
1.Cheetah/Leopard Print- Now I know what your thinking; that Cheetah print has been around for quite some time now and even crept its way into an old Next Edition post, but the truth is that the cheetah print train hasn’t come to a halt. 2013 is the year to get more versatile with your cheetah prints and take it to the next level. This year, let your inner feline should emerge by wearing it in ways you never did before!

2. Studs and spikes- 2012 left off with a stud/spike craze, that has quickly made its way to 2013. But as a fashionista what you need to know is just HOW FAR you can take the stud/spike craze. With numerous DIYs out on the world wide web, people everywhere are trying any way possible to integrate studs/spikes into their daily wear.

3.Wedged sneakers-While Beyonce can be considered one of the first to poplarize this look in the past, it was not until the end of last year that this style has begun to peak. Stores everywhere are now carrying this item as a staple.

4. Chambray- the modern twist on the denim shirt gained popularity late 2012 and is still being introduced to the world. With the much lighter fabric and its more versatile nature, everyone can find a chambray top that fits their personality the best.

6. Leather- and I don’t just mean leather jackets. Leather is now “fashionable” in every form even when you’re not being catwoman on halloween nights. From skirts to dresses leather is the new chic and that continues into 2013.

I was born in upstate New York, In Westminster County in the year 1992 to two loving parents, of Nigerian, West African descent. I was raised in various parts of the world including Trinidad and Tobago, Nigeria and Switzerland. I currently attend Salisbury University, in the state of Maryland, where I am a sophomore and my major is pre-nursing. In between changing schools and carrying suitcases between countries, fashion is the only thing that never seemed to change. From the time that I have been able to pick out my own clothes until now, my relationship with fashion has only blossomed and become deeper. I developed a love for fashion at a very young age, and my mother has always been there to encourage me to try new things and fear none other than God. I am always open to exploring and researching new ideas in fashion.
