The Rocket Factory Nets by Tom Sachs is Taking Off in Real Life

With the help of Avant Arte, Tom Sachs turned the Too Darn Hot NFT from his Rocket Factory collection into silkscreen prints.

Avante Arte co-founder Christian Luiten said, “I remember when I first met him in 2019, I visited his studio and we discussed doing a print together. Three years later, we’re collaborating on an insane print — the first print Tom’s worked on in 3 years and the first related to the Rocket Factory.”

The Too Darn Hot print, like the NFT, shows the Frankenrocket taking off with its Cup Noodles tail, Chanel body, and Trojan nose (you can’t get cheekier than a condom brand on the tip of a rocket). In addition to Sachs’s famous signature and a stamp with an indentation, the poster has a few surprises for NFT heads.

Fans of Sachs who have UV lights, the time has come for you. With the tool, you can find a hidden QR code that leads to the Too Darn Hot NFT. Fans can then claim the rocket NFT pictured on their poster as their own and add it to their digital collection.

The back of the print has a holographic sticker, which leads to a second QR code and, as a result, a unique NFT. These hidden details are like presents that keep on giving, and they also help to show that the poster was made by Sachs.

One of Sachs’ logo rocket NFTs is in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), which was one of the first museums to accept NFTs.

Sachs’ NFT was bought by LACMA, which was one of the steps leading up to the launch of Rocket Factory as a “trans-dimensional manufacturing plant” in 2021.

Using Rocket Factory, fans make new NFTs from existing ones. These crossbred, or cross-brand, rocket artworks are called “Frankenrockets.”

Since LACMA thinks Sachs’s NFT is art, Sachs is happy to give some of the money from the sales of Too Darn Hot prints to LACMA.

Tom Sachs’s many exhibitions, collaborations with Nike, and even his own spacecraft show that he is very interested in space.

The Rocket Factory and these prints, which will be for sale on Avant Arte’s website on November 2 for €750 (about $747), just show how much he likes the final frontier and how much he likes the on-chain sphere more and more.
