race across america, raam, has started to pass me as i walk around annapolis. christoph strasser won again this year. second place winner mark pattinson rode by me on green street in his last hundred yards of the race, which started a week ago in oceanside california. i took a picture of his back and walked up to the finish line where he was interviewed. later i saw hansi nyfeler, winner of the men's age 50-59 category, take the stage in triumph! he came in 4th in the overall race.
this is said to be the most challenging endurance race on the globe, coast to coast uninterrupted. top riders barely sleep along the route which takes about a week for them. this year pippa middleton is taking part, in a team of eight riders who race in turns, for charity. her team will get into annapolis about 2am tonight.
