Day Men #1

By: Matt Gagnon, Brian Stelfreeze

Publisher: Boom! Studios

The Lowdown: The first vampire book of the article. The titular Day Men are actually a vampire secret service, an agency of humans who protect their vampire employees during the daylight hours.

Blood Brothers #1 (of 3)

By: Mike Gagerman, Andrew Waller, Evan Shaner, Dan Jackson, Juan Doe

Publisher: Dark Horse Comics

The Lowdown: And the second vampire book of the article. Nick and Tree are best friends forever literally being vampires. The solicit mentions that they have smoked opium with Genghis Khan, had sexual escapades in Michelangelo’s art studio, and fronted a death metal band (which seems not that impressive in comparison). They are on the verge of splitting up, but they might have to stick together to stop an apocalypse.

Justice League Of America #6

By: Geoff Johns, Doug Mahnke, Ivan Reis

Publisher: DC Comics

The Lowdown: PART 2 to TRINITY WAR!! The Justice League and the Justice League of America finally face off.

Wonder Woman #22

By: Brian Azzarello, Cliff Chiang

Publisher: DC Comics

The Lowdown: The new 52 debut of New Genesis and hopefully the rest of the New Gods who aren’t Orion (who has been hobknobbing with Wondy for awhile) and High Father (who debuted on the last page of the last issue).

X-Files Season 10 #2

By: Joe Harris, Michael Walsh, Carlos Valenzuela

Publisher: IDW Publishing

The Lowdown: I am really happy that the X-Files are back with a little creative direction from Chris Carter. The first issue was actually really good. They didn’t waste anytime getting the ball rolling. Plus, Mulder looks like he’ll get some closure when it comes to his buddies, The Lone Gunmen.

Avengers #16

By: Jonathan Hickman, Stefano Caselli, Leinil Francis Yu

Publisher: Marvel Comics

The Lowdown: Besides being consistently awesome, Hickman finally gets back to what Ex Nihilo, Abyss, Starbrand, and Nightmask, who have been oddly missing after seemingly being introduced for big purposes.

X-Factor #259

By: Peter David, Neil Edwards, David Yardin

Publisher: Marvel Comics

The Lowdown: Part 3 of 6 and the end of X-Factor Investigations. Peter David is wrapping up each of the characters bringing some closure to a team that has been scattered to the wind. This one is about Longshot and Shatterstar, brothers created in test tubes by Mojo. That thing is, the last time I saw Shatterstar he was getting blasted into smithereens by Mephisto.
