The script from horror writer Steve Niles is thoughtful, eerie, and surprisingly character driven while Bernie Wrightson delivers some truly amazing illustrations.
Judge Dredd #1

The Lowdown: The relationship between 2000 AD and IDW seems a little redundant but here we are. A brand new story featuring Dredd and the other characters from Mega-City 1. I feel like this just might be IDW buying up licences, like the Disney of the comic book industry, but hey, maybe it ends up being good.

The Lowdown: Clones have become the bane of comic book properties ever since Spider-Man had a whole saga dedicated to them, but it is also a great sci-fi staple that has plenty of untapped directions. Not sure if this is technically a new direction, but Image has been on such an amazing tear lately that this shouldn’t go ignored.

The Lowdown: This is another first issue for a new Image title. This one deals with time travel specifically an organization that goes back in time to make wrongs right for hire. I am sure that there will be some serious Butterfly Effect-ing.

The Lowdown: Cap is already perpetually out of his element being a WWII-era man in the modern world. Maybe he has gotten to the point where that is no longer a problem, so what better than to thrust into an alternate dimension. Remender is taking over scripting duties for the red, white, and blue boy. Remender is possibly one of my new favorite writers. His Uncanny X-Force was such a great mix of gratuitous violence and thoughtful character moments for characters who are rarely given that much thought.

The Lowdown: One of the most consistent and fun books that Marvel is publishing now. This is one of the titles I could probably mention every month. Pulido takes over this issue for the interior art. He has a great pulpy feel to his style that fits this particular scope of Hawkeye.
