Must read comics of the week

Army Of Darkness Hitched #1

First Deadpool, now Ash. Everyone’s favorite loud mouths are dropping like flies. I’m pretty excited about Steve Niles writing it. I really dig his horror instincts, much of which is action-adventure  oriented, an orientation that works pretty good for a horror franchise centered on a hero instead of a villain.

Batman Eternal #15

The funny business happening below Arkham Asylum attracts the focus this issue with Jim Corrigan and Batwing investigating. Looking at the cover though, it looks like it might be Harper Row’s first time in the Bluebird identity.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Spike – Into the Light

Not technically an issue, it is actually a hardcover, so it’ll be an entire story in one swoop. It is also written by the actor who portrayed Spike on the old shows, James Marsters.

The Devilers #1

I was a big fan of I, Vampire when the New 52 first started up. I don’t know what happened though. It eventually just lost steam. He is back again to the horror genre bringing 7 of the world’s best exorcists against Satan’s army.

Life with Archie #36

Guys! I don’t even know what’s real anymore. I feel like my whole brain is crying. Did I accidentally listen to “Come Sail Away” by Styx again? My emotions! My emotions!

Nova #19

This original sin tie in looks back at Sam Alexander’s father and the origins of the black helmet Novas.

Original Sin #6

Third to the last issue of the whole event. It is moving swimmingly for an event, maybe the best event since crossover events became a thing.

Original Sin #3.2

The continuing history of Hulk vs Iron Man, since apparently Stark had something to do with the explosion that created the Hulk.

The Squidder #1

According to the write-up, Ben Templesmith is returning to his roots with this Cthulhu inspired story. Not sure what that means. I know Templesmith mostly for his days illustrating Steve Niles. Either way, should be cool.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #36

Leo vs Rat King!

Teen Titans #1

Teen Titans get the renumber treatment. The new 52 book was a bit of a mess to begin with, but they started throwing continuity into the wind with all the Superboy and Kid Flash crap.

Thunderbolts #28

Punisher tried to leave the T-bolts, so the T-bolts (or more likely just Red Hulk) tried to take him out. Obviously, it didn’t work so now the Punisher is going to hunt them down. A former T-bolt (coughHawkeyecough) comes to the rescue.
