Must read comics releasing on 2/12/2013
All New X-Men #23
The Trial of Jean Grey parts 1 and 2 were both lots of exposition when what I really want to see is the present Guardians and the past X-Men kicking Shi’ar ass. Hopefully, we can finally get to some of the action.
Mercenary Sea #1
I have been really excited for this. The ads have been in all the Image Comic lately. It has this really great art style inspired by pulp novel covers (not unlike Thief of Thieves) with a lighthearted adventure like Indiana Jones or Johnny Quest.
She-hulk #1
One of Marvel’s underrated characters gets her own book that sounds a bit like a throwback to classic superhero stories about working superheroes. She-hulk is challenged by some brand new villains and a really big caseload.
Superior Spider-Man #27
The return of Peter Parker is already confirmed and is right around the corner. I can’t help but think this will be the end of Otto-Spidey as Norman Osborne’s big takeover plan that he has been nursing right under Spidey’s nose has hit critical mass.
Thor God Of Thunder #19
Thor fights for the environment against big corporate America in order to save Midgard, but that isn’t even the best thing about this solicitation. The best thing is that future Thor from the God-Butcher storyline will be showing up. Between this and last month’s past Thor adventure, I am really glad they aren’t ignoring these really cool alternate versions of Thor.
Winter Soldier Bitter March #1
Rick Remender, one of the coolest writers at Marvel, is now writing one of Marvel’s coolest characters, Winter Soldier. Remender did an awesome job with the darker side of superheroes in Uncanny X-Force, Uncanny Avengers, and the newest Captain America run. I can’t wait to see what he is going to do with Winter Soldier, especially because he is going back to the 1960s before Cap rebooted Bucky’s mind.
X-Force #1
Marvel tried to have 2 X-Force’s: Psylocke’s wetworks team and Cable’s outlaws, but I guess it wasn’t working for them. So they collided the teams in a big crossover ending the 2 titles for this brand new title where the teams get mashed together.
