The Promise of a Summer Yet to Come

The early morning light was soft and golden. The first rays coming in the eastern windows caught a bouquet of sunflowers gracing my table with their promise of a summer yet to come. The light was irresistible. My winter bones yearned for the warmth. I had to catch this moment and hold it close. Yes, summer will come again.
