The Playlist: May

By Hellofreckles @tashajsteel
This month I've been trying to inject a little hint of summer into my playlist. See what I've been listening to...
Katy Perry
Well this will come as no surprise if you've been following me on Twitter and Instagram. I went to see KP earlier this month and had such a good night! I've had her latest album, Prism, on pretty regularly since. I can't be the only one who goes to see a band/artist then spends the following weeks listening to them on repeat? It's like I'm reliving the gig, with particular highlights on the album being 'Dark Horse' (there's just something about that beat) 'This Is How We Do' and 'Birthday'.
Proceed
Another influence from Andrew. He had them on in the car and I had to ask what it was. They're a bit like Don Broco, well the bassist from Broco actually used to be in Proceed, so that could be why they seem to have a slightly familiar sound. My favorite track on their EP 'Curious Electric' has to be 'A Tricycle Journey'. It just feels so summery!
Ellie Goulding
I've been watching a lot of New Girl lately and 'Anything Could Happen' is definitely one of my happy songs, plus it reminds me of a certain situation that arises in the series. I'm not gonna say any more, in case you watch the show. Ellie's voice is so unique and I find her music really easy to listen to whatever I'm doing. It's not like I'd get distracted doing an assignment listening to her, whereas if I was listening to Beyoncé's 'Love On Top', I'd be trying to dance while typing and let's face it, that doesn't work!
Fall Out Boy
I know I probably mention Fall Out Boy in (almost) every playlist post but I just can't help it. I've been listening to 'Save Rock and Roll' loads lately, right now 'Alone Together' and 'Death Valley' are this month's top picks from the album.

What've you been listening to this month?
