The Places Our Cameras Take Us.

By Scarlettandstephen

This time last week, we were chilling with our clients at a private villa in the Bahamas.

I recently said to Stephen, “How did we become such jet setters?”  Some days I feel like I blinked, and now all we do is travel more than we are ever home.  It’s not something I set out to do or become.  I was never the type that said “I want to be a destination photographer.”  Through our clients’ gracious referral after referral, it just kind of… happened.  When people ask us, “How do you become a destination wedding photographer?,” I never really know a magic answer to give them other than the greatest thing my momma told me back in college when I was trying to choose a major:

“Do what you love, and you’ll figure out a way to make a career out of it.”

As exhausting as travel can be sometimes, I do feel so blessed to get to travel the world with my husband doing exactly what we love.  It’s crazy the places around the world our cameras take us, and I can’t imagine sharing this journey with anyone else than Stephen by my side.  We often say we feel like two little aliens in our own little world.  And more and more as we travel this world, I see that.

While in the Bahamas, we shot an engagement session (pictures coming soon!), and here’s us being photographed by our client in return as we strolled the gorgeous private beach.
