Can one DOG make a difference? In the Pet World, you hear stories that inspire, make us laugh, feel good and connect with humanity. As we draw near to celebrating the blog's one year anniversary next month, we'd like to celebrate the life of one DOG who inspired the making of our blog.

IGNITING ONE BLOG Lucy has been our inspiration and the driving force behind this blog. Her presence has made what this blog is today as we began our veryfirst post about her, and not knowing what's ahead for us in the creation of this site nearly one year ago.
WELL-BEHAVED and BARELY NEEDED TRAINING It was just 4 years go when Lucy came to my aunt from a single-parent family who was no longer able to take care of one of two golden retrievers. She was such a blessing in disguise. She kept my aunt company during the many months while her husband was away for business.

She is such a well behaved Golden Retriever that needed barely any training. Only with the occasional misbehavior of sitting on the forbidden sofa, which ironically was one of my most memorable moments of her. While my aunt was on vacation, I had to go through the backyard through the house to feed her. Without noticing that I was coming from the backyard, I found Lucy sitting on the forbidden sofa!  I will forever remember this bittersweet moment.

With sadness, Lucy, our adorable 13 year-old Golden Retriever, had passed in her sleep yesterday morning. She had truly lived a great life with the loving care of our aunt.  She had provided much joy and companionship to everyone she had met.

While I am still trying to digest the lost of a friend, I asked my friend for his spiritual wisdom and following is his reply:

…Whenever there is a loss in one’s life, there is always a major opportunity given in return to open ones heart further to release the pain that has been held on a soul level. After experienced, they'll have a new found awareness with crystal clarity in their life's purpose. Keep her in your prayers and see her through, and she will shine.

RIP. Lucy, have a wonderful time in Doggie Heaven. We will miss you! THANK YOU for being such an inspiration for this Blog. This Blog will continue in your memory. To see the very first post, featuring Lucy that helped launch Haws Of Paws, click here.
