The Perfect Selection Of Armchairs For Your Living Space | Furniture

By Saharg @Saharghazale

You might opt for a simple sofa or sectional for your space for the sake of being convenient or because it is the major part of the room. When it comes to armchairs or loungers, I prefer to go for statement pieces whether in terms of  overall design, color, finish, or simply because it is designed by a well known designer. In 2013 many designers presented magnificent pieces which I fell in love with such as the above armchair designed by Jaime Hayon for the Republic of Fritz Hansen. This specific photo made me love pastels, the whole chair is just a delight to look at. the fact that it feels like someone is already seated in it, gives the impression of comfort.

Baxter this year presented ‘Dolly’ a beautiful armchair which does not resemble any of their products. it stands out and is just beautiful.

Kenzo Maison are progressing really fast in the furniture world and are coming up with lines and themes that are so distinct. Above is the ‘Cannes’ from their 2013 collection presented in Milan last April.

A classic and one of my all time favorites, the foster 520 by the world renowned architects Foster + Partners for Walter Knoll.  it is so smooth yet very strong in form and finish.

Minotti will always be my favorite brand, the prince has become one of my favorite items from their collections. the fact that they choose it along with the Gilliam to add a pop of color to their settlings, is just incredible.

The ‘Bohemian’ from Moroso, is not new, yet I couldn’t do this post without presenting the delicate work of the wonderful designer Patricia Urquiola. The ‘Antibodi’ chair below has to be one of her famous standout pieces also designed for Moroso.

Poltrona Frau, known for luxury leather furniture, presented the Mamy Blue during Milan 2013 as well. A very luxurious seat. Another favorite from this brand is the below armchair the Regina ll.

I still don’t know the name of the above from Roche Bobois, but I find beautiful and in the same lemonade color. it’s beautiful. also presented in Milan 2013.

Finally Fendi Casa, their new attention to details and sophistication is indescribable. The finish, the buckles, the numerous details that make every item so unique. The above ‘Metropolitan’ armchair is a perfect example of such detailing. they went out of the norm of going for the ‘Wing chair’ trend and instead presented what they do best, details and various finishes, simple yet sophisticated at the same time.

I hope you liked my selection of luxury armchairs. What was your favorite?
