GUYS AND DOLLS! Listen up! It's time for another season of amazing musical and fun nights as  “The show that defines Broadway dazzle!” --- The New York Times, is coming to Singapore for the FIRST TIME!!!
Set to play at The MasterCard Theatres at Marina Bay Sands from 28 August 2015, the perfect musical comedy is here for a limited season as GUYS AND DOLLS celebrates Broadway's golden era with one of the greatest scores ever written for a musical by the legendary Frank Loesser.
GUYS AND DOLLSoriginally conquered Broadway in 1951 with over 1200 performances and winning 5 Tony® Awards including Best New Musical In 1992 and the musical again bagged 4 Tony® Awards including Best Revival of a Musical.  Considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy, GUYS AND DOLLS' success on Broadway also had Hollywood following in its footsteps with a 1955 film adaptation starring Marlon Brando, Jean Simmons, Frank Sinatra and Vivian Blaine.

The storyline is based in New York, on small time gambler Nathan Detroit who needs to find a place to host his card game but has no money to pay for the venue. Nathan challenges a garage owner Sky Masterson to take Sarah Brown, a virtuous female missionary,  out on a date in return for the use of the venue.  Despite some resistance, Sky negotiates a date with her in exchange for bringing people into her mission. Sky and Sarah end up falling in love and in a bad turn of events, the bet between Nathan and Sky is revealed.GUYS AND DOLLS takes us from the bustle of Times Square to the dance clubs of Havana to the sewers of New York City as it demonstrates the great lengths to which a guy will go when he truly falls in love with a “doll.” The show features some of Frank Loesser’s most memorable tunes, including the hilarious “Adelaide’s Lament,” the romantic “I’ve Never Been in Love Before,”the exuberant “If I Were a Bell” and the classic “Luck be a Lady.”

Bustling with gamblers, gangsters, and sassy showgirls this musical has introduced audiences to a cast of characters who have become legends in the musical theater world:  Sarah Brown, the upright but uptight "mission doll," out to reform the evil-doers of Times Square; Sky Masterson, the slick, high-rolling gambler who woos her on a bet to Cuba and ends up falling in love; Adelaide, the chronically ill nightclub performer whose condition is brought on by the fact she's been engaged to the same man for 14 years; and Nathan Detroit, her devoted fiancé, desperate as always to find a spot for his infamous floating cards game.GUYS AND DOLLS features some of Frank Loesser’s toe-tapping score, masterfully witty book and lyrics by Joe Swerling and comedy legend Abe Burrows, and the glorious Damon Runyon’s comic book world of 1940s Times Square New York City.
