The Ombre Effect

By Wildchildmedia @wildchildmedia

Ombre has taken the fashion world by storm. At first it was only offered to the stars causing some serious hair envy for the rest of us, however that has changed with salons offering the simply yet effective style to the public… for a price! For those of you who have been living in the dark, ombre is the gradual change of hair color from dark to light which goes down the length of your hair. There have been countless variations of this effect, but the most well known being from brown to blonde.

Ombre is a simple, no fuss hairstyle which is easily kept and can be made to look amazing with messy hair or prim and proper hair. Anyone can suit it, it is all a matter of finding the right shades for you! With salons offering this A-list look it wasn’t long before everyone was trying it and why not? It is one style that can suit any age group, if you feel that you are one of the select few that couldn’t pull off this style, ask your local hair dresser for their opinion and let them work their magic as you wont regret it!

However, for those of you that have a fear of a hair dressers after a bad cut and color there are now the options of using a kit and having ago at doing it yourself. Before these kits were around, the best option was just to buy a light coloured dye and put it through the ends of your hair and hope for the best. Which usually ended up with a dodgy dip-dye effect, and a walk of shame to buy more dye to cover up what you had already done. Luckily, L’Oreal are now offering ‘wild ombre kits’ specifically for ombreing different hair types.

The kits are easy enough to use; with simple instructions and everything in the box being self explanatory, it seems more and more people are turning to using home kits for their beloved ombre. Although there is still the chance of your hair going in the opposite direction to what you had actually hoped for, home DIY ombre appears to turn out just as well as any salon produced ombre.

So if you’re looking for a new way of changing your hair, but can’t deal with the hassle of roots then ombre is the way forward!
