The perfect word to describe Ladakh still has not been formed it seems when
one has the magnificent panorama of Ladakh before his eyes. The region is the highest habitated place on the face of the earth. It lies in the northernmost part of India in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and is the home of the majority of the Buddhist tribes. The places are marked by the unparallel beauty of the rocky terrain and the snowy peaks that are the soul of the still life here.

Pangong Lake

It is also known as the Pangong Tso locally here. The magnificence lies here in the changing colors of the environment due to change in the weather and perhaps every hour will bring something out for your lenses. The best activity to explore here is the hiking around the month of February when the whole lake freezes to make it a path for the trekkers. The lake bears some of the world’s highest altitude saline lakes. The lake is a located at about four and a half minute’s journey from the Leh. The daylight has the effect on the color of the lakes. The Chang la pass is the nearest place from where one can descend down to reach this magnificent lake. 

Thiskey monastery

it is a famous monastery that lies close to Leh and is a wonderful 12 foot high masterpiece of architecture. The monastery is a paradise for the soul with its beauty and the clean ambience both in and out of the monastery. It lies on the famous Indus valley route and also on the way to the Pangong Lake at an average altitude of 11800ft. the morning chant of the prayers make fill the soul with eternal peace before you make your way out of the monasteries grand gates. 

The Nubra Valley

150 kms away from the Leh region as the traveler makes his way through the Khardung la pass and the glaciers one reaches the number three of the most visited places of the region in the year 2011-2012, the Nubra Valley. The local dhabas offer the delicacies of the region for your much needed energy in the hills. The region is filled with the beauty of the brooks and the camels thudding here on the Hunder sand dunes. Here some hot water springs are found here at Panamik. Sumur and the Diskit monasteries are also not so far.

Monastero Chemre Gompa

believed to be built by the red hats of the 17th century this Gompa is a major attraction of the region that has the whites of the monastery coming alive with the yellow rapeseed fields. Mountaineering and trekking is popular here. 


Stok Palace Museum

the palace is the residence of the former royal family of Ladakh that has now been transformed into a museum for the visit of the visitors. The royal dresses and the jewel embedded crown are put to display here that might interest you.
