The League Says Janet Jackson Is NOT Banned From The Superbowl
Just as fan excitement and outrage builds over the announcement that Nipplegate co-conspirator Justin Timberlake will grace the stage for the Superbowl halftime show, folks are slamming the NFL for allowing Mr. SexyBack back while leaving Janet out in the cold.
But the NFL says that simply isn’t the case. Despite years of speculation, there is no official ban on Janet performing at halftime or any other time for an NFL event…she just hasn’t effed with them at all since the 2004 incident.
This news is pretty opportune for Janet, who is currently back on tour. So since they’re letting us know this NOW and Justin has some serious amends to make with Miss Jackson anyway…do you think this means that Janet will be reclaiming her time on the SuperBowl stage next February? As a league spokesman told TMZ:
“We are not going to comment on any speculation regarding potential guests. There may be no guests. Along with Pepsi, we’re excited to have Justin Timberlake.”
Well, of course, they’re not gonna tell yall. What do you think? Will Justin bring out Janet as a “surprise” guest to make up for the bullisht of the past between them? Will Janet whip a tidday out for old times sake as an FU to the league for putting her through so much mess? Or even more infuriating for them…take a knee during her performance?
Time will tell…
