When you zoom out on the map, you will see that it is not far from Amsterdam. Just the idea that a nature park is located so close to big cities like the Dutch capital and Lelystad seemed to be surreal.
On 19 October, Lars and I went to the visitor center located at the Kitsweg 1, Lelystad. We payed a couple of euros for a map and followed the Keersluispad, which is a walk of 5 kilometers and which shows the different types of plants and animals you can encounter in the park.
The first thing to see is a swamp, where you can see different kinds of birds. There is an observation point where you can sit down and have a look around with your binoculars. As you can imagine, I had a great time with my camera.
