Continuing my series on architectural tours with Traditional Indian, Chic French, Spanish Style.. and this time, I've some of the prettiest Irish thatched roof cottages for you. I'm dreaming a family vacation in Ireland in one of these picturesque cottages. I believe these roofs are thatched with reeds, and historically wheaten or oaten straw would have been used. I always loved thatched roofs as they are eco-friendly and it is a wonderful way to use dry vegetation. It also gives the home a rustic feel. I can imagine how cozy interiors would be. Well, with the addition of colorful gardens and greenery don't you think these are ravishing?
