Plot: Loi Bo Watch Company, Hong Kong’s esteemed watch boutique, conceals a thrilling secret—it serves as the epicentre for stolen timepieces. Story: The Moon Thieves starts when a crime boss known as Uncle (To) looks to put together a team for a new job. He brings together a thief (Cheung), an explosives expert Mario (Ning), a lock-picking prodigy Yoh (Lo) and a watch connoisseur Mr Ma (Lui). The job includes stealing watches from Japan for the Hong Kong community for auction.

However, when Mr Ma notices a mythical watch, he has been searching for, he might make the job more difficult. As the job starts, it seems routine, and they must overcome a few problems. Can they complete the job and escape with everything they need or not?

Verdict on The Moon Thieves

The Moon Thieves is an action thriller following an unlikely crew of robbers. They come together to complete a watch robbery in Japan, but soon things get out of hand. It leads to them needing to figure out how to escape and return to Hong Kong.

This is an entertaining heist movie, one that feels a lot like the ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ and ‘Now You See Me’ era of them. It dives into the underworld a watch holding, showing how far people go to get the most valuable watches. The group of made up of an unlikely team, who come together to work perfectly with their strengths. Elsewhere, the world creates a compelling obsession with the Moon Watch. With excellent chemistry and a slick heist, we get an entertaining movie.
