The Monday #Photoblog… The Bookshops of London Town

By Lwblog @londonwalks
DC Editor Adam Scott writes…

Monday is ALMOST mute here on The Daily Constitutional. We always launch the week with five London photos, grouped on a theme or neighbourhood.

This week we're pressing our noses against the windows of London's bookshops

Olden Days Amazon - Any Amount Of Books on the Charing Cross Road…

One from the archive… had to chuckle at this "window display" from Waterstone's in Kensington back in 2010 with the bottle of Spray & Wipe resting next to Tony Blair's book. What was that line about "All the perfumes of Arabia" again?

Wild & wonderful Cecil Court…

… the title on the right - The Corpse Wore Pasties – is a murder mystery thriller by neo-burlesque performer Jonny Porkpie.
I wasted a whole Sunday trying to replicate this display in the window of The British Museum bookshop on my bookshelves at home. (Between you and me, I think they're using glue. Cheats.)

And finally, you can't say fairer than this…

Adam adds… As an extra today for this our special RELAUNCH post, here's an episode of the London Walks Podcast in which I go shopping for books on the Charing Cross Road…

Come and join me on a tour. You can book for ALL my public, scheduled London Walks Tours in September via our online shop Pay-A-Tour. Click the button below for the full schedule…

The Monday Photoblog will return next week. In the meantime, if you'd like to share a London photo with us, please do! Perhaps you joined Karen or Adam on a tour and snapped a a great shot. Drop us a line.
