Hello everyone, I hope all is well with you. I’m back after a long week of work, writing, and running. After a week of vacation, it was a little hard to acclimate back to work, but I managed. LOL.

But enough about that. Today I want to chat about the mind and body connection. Did you know that your thoughts influence your body? They do. Your thoughts can make your body sick. On the other hand, your body can improve your thoughts if you move it.

That’s right, exercise is not only good for your body, it’s good for your mental health as well. Studies have shown that exercise alleviates anxiety and depression. If you do it regularly, it also helps you sleep.

It’s also been proven that regular exercise fights disease. One of the biggest indicators of heart disease, diabetes, and cancer is being overweight. Exercise helps keep your weight down.

Like I said before, your thoughts have an effect on your body, too. For example, a positive mindset makes it that much easier to get out and exercise. A good way to improve your thoughts is by mindful meditation.

What is Mindful Meditation?

It is a type of meditation in which you focus on being intensely aware of what you are sensing and feeling at the moment, without interpretation or judgment.

Practicing mindfulness uses breathing exercises, guided imagery, and other practices to relax the body and mind and reduce stress.

There are ways to strengthen the Mind and Body connection. One way is by practicing yoga. I know when I complete a yoga class, I feel more relaxed but also more aware.

Another way to strength the connection between your mind and body is the practice of Tai- Chai. I’ve never tried this, but I hear the benefits are much like Yoga.

So, there you have it. Having a strong mind-body connection helps relax the mind, so you can exercise, and exercise sends endorphins through your body improving your state of mind.

How about you? Do you make it a priority to strengthen your mind and body connection? How do you do it? Leave a comment! I’d love to hear from you!
