The Many Outfits of Rod Stewart

By Blondeambition @BrookeFalvey

Last night, I was (almost) front and center with second-row seats to Rod Stewart’s Greatest Hits tour.

Mock me, judge me, say whatever you will, but I love a Rod Stewart concert.

I was practically raised on a medley on Maggie May, Forever Young and You’re in My Heart.

In fact, such is my love for Rod that he—at the age of 70—remains my second favorite Essex born/living man (coming after RW but before Jamie Oliver whose pancake recipe let me down at a crucial moment when I was trying to impress a boyfriend and instead nearly poisoned him).

And, for someone who has been performing for far longer than I’ve been alive, he can still entertain a crowd whose ages (at least in our row and the one in front) spanned from early 20s to 88-year-old Hazel next to us who even had a boogie.

Being his Greatest Hits tour, the concert included the anthem-like You’re In My Heart and Have I Told You Lately That I Love You to You Wear It Well, Stay With Me and First Cut Is The Deepest.

He even dedicated Rhythm of My Heart to soldiers near and far, and paused mid-song to encourage everyone to watch footage of US soldiers returning home and surprising their kids.

Also, huge kudos to his amazing mandolin player, J’anna Jacoby whose solo in Maggie May gets me every time.

Now, because I haven’t yet finished my post on the new teen flick, The Duff (keep an eye or for it this week because I’ll be giving away five double passes), I give you the many outfits of Rod Stewart’s Brisbane concert at Boondall Entertainment Centre, all of which had matching socks:

If that blazed had been in pink, I’d have been all over it!

Check out those matching silver socks which I’m pretty sure were made from lurex because they sparkled so much.

He’s even nailed the classic ‘shirt half tucked in’ look favoured by fashionistas across the globe!

You wear it well, Rod.
