The Longer Bob

By Hellofreckles @tashajsteel
If you've been following me on instagram, you may have already seen this photo. I've been considering this long bob style for a while and finally decided to go for it and join the trend.
I got about 4 inches chopped off, maybe a tiny bit more, which removed the bulk of my ombré. As much as I like the effect, I was getting fed up of mine and had tried to dye over it a couple times. It didn't last long though and would fade to a gingery brown as you can see in my Paul Mitchell post from last week.

I actually made the appointment on the morning around 45 minutes before heading up to a nearby salon. There's no real reason why it was booked so late, I just knew I wanted to get it cut while I had a day off work and it's not like I rushed into it. If anything, I made the most of a very rainy day when the lighting was rubbish for taking blog photos!

I'm really happy with it and I'm even considering going just a little bit shorter next time.

A quick run through the products that are working wonders on my slightly shorter 'do.I've been loving the Paul Mitchell Art of Volume gift set*. I've been using the Daily Boost Root Lifter Spray since the Paul Mitchell event (see my post here) and it's great for injecting the volume into the root. Using the shampoo, conditioner and root spray together really amps up the volume and makes my hair feel so full and bouncy - think that sassy girl emoji. Redken Pillow Proof Blow Dry Spray makes my hair dry quicker and let's face it, it's now a lot quicker there's less of it anyway. It's an absolute must have in my opinion and I've found my sister is now quite a fan of it too...To add a messy texture, I swear by Bumble and Bumble (Un)Dressing Creme. A tiny bit goes a long way and leaves your hair with that undone Olsen feel to it. For something with a more high-street friendly price tag, Charles Worthington Texturising Spray is a great volumising spray that really works and it's just over £5. It doesn't leave my hair greasy, even if I re-spray during the day and unlike some sprays, it smells pretty good too. To finish everything off, I always reach for Fudge Urban Iced Coconut Cocktail Hair Spray. I think I've spoken about this a few times on here now, it smells like coconut so immediately I loved that, plus it gives the best hold I've ever known (super concentrated 5/6 kinda stuff). Just don't spray it too close to your hair or things may get a bit crunchy! What do you think of my shorter style? Are there any products you'd recommend.
