The Legend of Zelda is still very much on course to come to the Wii U despite the forthcoming announcement of Nintendo's new console, claims Shigeru Miyamoto.
The Legend of Zelda was recently delayed to beyond 2015, and Nintendo also announced plans to unveil its new console, codenamed NX, sometime in 2016. But in an interview with IGN, Miyamoto has stated that the game will not be bumped to the new hardware.
"We're here to talk about Star Fox but Zelda is still coming to Wii U," he said via an interpreter, "so don't worry about that."
Miyamoto goes on to explain the reason behind Zelda's absence from E3. "My thing with E3 is that we always focus on what's coming out in the immediate future. We have some really great Zelda footage and, at some point we will be showing that off, but not today."
