The Lad Classic Rock Hamilton

The Lad Classic are an energetic rock foursome out of the Toronto area and I was able to catch them in Hamilton at This Ain't Hollywood.

These guys have been around for a few years now and their first EP Thunder is a great starting point. It's a treat, giving you five songs full blast and big and then the same five tunes unplugged for a totally different feel. The Lad Classic have been busy as of late, writing and recording with Oak Records at Oak Recording Studio for their first full length album set to release early summer.

So, fittingly they start the night out with two songs off of the upcoming record - Are You With Me and I've Got Your Sympathy. From there its clear, it'll be another solid recording from The Lads. Then going back to some songs from Thunder, including a slow paced but heavy hitting song Blow Out, and single Cadillac Jack.

Frontman Paul Stevens has quite a range to say the least. Almost like a less operatic Justin Hawkins of The Darkness. On guitar is Ben Healy, who can play anything. Jumping from heavy riffs to intricate solos effortlessly. Owning the beat is Josiah Whitney on the drums, clearly enjoying himself playing heavy and loose. And rounding out the crew on bass is Tyson Hiseler.

Closing out their set, The Lad Classic did a great rendition of I Can't Dance by Genisis, and two more new tunes - Hipshaker, and Who.

Their full length album coming soon will be one to watch out for. Until then you can check out their EP Thunder on Spotify, or at TheLadClassic.com.
