I’m normally hesitant to post mashups, derivative as they tend to be, but Chicago-based producers The Hood Internet have put out a good one here. The two main tracks alone – Purity Ring’s “Belispeak” and Frank Ocean’s “Pyramids” – are good in their own right, while the mashers add their own take on it that makes it more than just a simple overdub of two solid songs. It’s worth mentioning that both albums from the original artists – Purity Ring’s Shrines and Frank Oceans’s Channel Orange - are two of the best LPs released in the past couple years.
