Plot: A team of trainees of the National Guard brings supply to the New Mexico Desert for a group of soldiers and scientists that are installing a monitoring system in Sector 16. They do not find anybody in the camp, and they receive a blurred distress signal from the hills. Their sergeant gathers a rescue team, and they are attacked and trapped by deformed cannibals, having to fight to survive.
Verdict: And It’s Gone
Story: Let’s start by explaining that this is only a sequel to the remake, not a remake of the sequel, understand? In all honesty this had so much to work with after a solid remake left it open to sequel. The problem is they throw that all out the window right from the opening sequence of the girl gives birth, to the random science experiment trying to figure out what is going on there. Mix in the rookie military team who show little to know intelligence. This is really a terrible story that ruined the rebirth of the franchise. (3/10)
Actor Review
Michael McMillian: Napoleon the smartass talk back to authority member of the unit, who tries to keep everyone together as they get caught in the mines trying to escape. Looked well out of place in the lead role. (2/10)
Jessica Stroup: Amber the tough girl who screams like the damsel in distress. Another one who doesn’t really look ready to be a lead in a film about soldiers. (2/10)
Jacob Vargas: Crank the stereotypical Latino character who thinks he is all that but does something really stupid on a regular basis. Fills the supporting role well enough for a disposable character. (4/10)
Director Review: Martin Weisz – What was he thinking really? (1/10)
Horror: Has some good gore, but all close ups that get over used. (3/10)
Thriller: Has little to no suspense anywhere in the film. (2/10)
Settings: The setting is the only good thing about this film and they still messed up using it correctly. (6/10)
Special Effects: You can see some of the effects are good but some are poor. (5/10)
Suggestion: I don’t think even the most diehard horror fans will enjoy this one. (Avoid)
Best Part: Its short.
Worst Part: Not short enough
Kill Of The Film: Climber.
