Today’s Tasting:

Troon Vineyard | Zinfandel 2014

Made from Troon Vineyard Zinfandel vines planted in 1972, the same year that The French Connection won the Oscar for Best Picture, and The Summer of ’42 won for Best Dramatic Film Score, this scene-stealer garners awards of its own for quality and value.

Wine:  Troon Vineyard Zinfandel – Applegate Valley AVA

Vintage: 2014

Varietal(s): Zinfandel;  a touch of native-yeast fermented Carignan and Primitivo.

Alcohol: 14.5%

Suggested Retail:  $20

TASTING NOTES:

Robe:  Medium garnet robe.

Nose:  Florals, red raspberry nose.

Palate:  Medium bodied, velvet-roped red fruit bouche with a slinky finish.

Suggested Pairings:  Your go-to for book club, pizza night, neighborhood potluck, or as Mommy’s little helper after dinner with molten chocolate brownies. Just sayin’.
