Verdict on The Hamlet Syndrome

The Hamlet Syndrome is a documentary following a generation of Ukrainians. They have lived through a political war in their country and have turned to Hamlet to escape the destruction. However, now a new war has hit the country and they must face the similarities between what they have been through to fight back.

This follows the generations that have been through horrific events and are using Hamlet to help them express the pain they have been through. Each different member of the theater group has a different story, with each having its own unique distressing moment. This gets to show how coming together and telling the stories that hurt them can help heal the wounds left behind.

The movie is eye-opening and shows how even this world for these real people has changed again. This is important to see how people can recover and most importantly how much damage war has done to people.

Where to Watch: The Hamlet Syndrome is showing at Kinoteka Polish Film Festival 2023 on the 14th of March 2023. You can buy tickets Here.
