THE GRUB FEST'2015

The Grub Fest kicked off on the 3rd of April, and was designed to be a three day gastronomical delight, bringing together the city's best culinary feats. From life-sized pop up restaurants, home-made carts, food trucks, to kebab grills, candy stores and organic bazaars, this food fest aspires to re-invent the quintessential food experience. The fest took place in Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Lawns. Structured around global food festivals, The Grub Fest is the brainchild of young entrepreneurs Aman Kumar, Arjun Jain, Chaitanya Mathur & Mani Singh Cheema, who are passionate foodies and want to showcase the very best of India's food flavors by means of a festival.

Besides having few of Delhi's finest eating joints {Royal China, United Coffee House, Smokey's, Fio, Town Hall, Khan Chacha, Switch, NYC Pie, Kathi's and Shiv Sagar}, they also had celebrities like Vir Das, Hari and Sukhmani, Cyanide, Rishabh Joshi and DJ Sartek bringing the entertainment for us. Activities like food tasting menus, blind wine tastings, interactive contests and venues like fresh, farm produce, a bar and lounge area, a kids village, a CP re-creation, curated food walks by the Grub Police, and as this century would like it, drones and flying cameras, one could see all of these in the fest.

Lebanese, Chinese, North Indian, Italian, Mughlai, Mexican, Coastal, Sushi and a variety of other cuisines from nearly 50 city eateries had been brought under one roof in the 'Grub Fest'. Among the food trucks was the Lalit Food Truck Company serving crispy taco, falafel and fries, tortilla wraps, churros and burgers. Other food trucks include 'What the Truck' and Super Sucker. Super Sucker has been serving food in corporate parties, music fests and has been in the catering services. The 'mutton wrap' seemed to be the most selling item at this eating joint while salads, burito, soya keema pav and French fries were also on the menu.

The tummy tickler fests was like heaven for a foodie (with a good appetite) and also a way to hangout and meet friends and try various food outlets present there. With creative designs and hoardings the fest seemed pretty cheered up the whole time. It was indeed super fun for us.
