After the last post I was tweeting with Upasna where we concluded something which has stayed with my for the last two days: Not everyone we meet in our life is supposed to stay for the lifetime. It was like an 'aha' and a 'duh' moment at the same time. We try so hard to hold on to some people, but may be if they are not trying as well then it is not meant to be? May be we need to let it free? May be the friendship/relationship has run its course? I could bet that I already knew that. So had I forgotten it in the last couple of years?!?!Of course, family we cannot get rid of even if we tried. Thats how (most) family are built. But everyone else is pretty replaceable. No? (Harsh much?!)

I was also speaking to one of my colleagues recently where she was mentioning how she has these "4am friends", i.e. they count on each other to show up at wee hours; no questions asked, which again got me thinking that I do not have any such friends. Firstly, I would be way too obliged if I disturbed anyone at that hour. Secondly, if it was a matter of life and death then I would probably call my family, which in my case means my husband as he is the only family I have here. God forbid if he isn't available, I would probably die, since it is the life and death scenario!
Is it just me or do you too sense the dearth of friends in my life?
In other news: This is the second day in gloriously sunny Scottsdale, Arizona!
