The GOP Representatives That Do NOT Believe In Democracy

Posted on the 01 January 2021 by Jobsanger
On January 6th, Congress will meet to certify the results of the Electoral College. Normally, this is not a very exciting or divisive thing, because the electoral college votes were determined by the votes of American citizens. The Congress only rubber stamps the results of a democratic election.

But the meeting in 2021 is going to be different. That's because a couple of dozen House members will challenge the electoral college results. They want the votes from one or more states to be thrown out, and Trump to be declared the winner. They claim, with absolutely no proof, that those state results were the result of fraudulent voting.

The votes in those states (and indeed all states) have been certified, and those states have said there is no evidence of fraudulent voting. The Attorney General (Barr) announced that no evidence of fraud existed.

In other words, those representatives are trying to overthrow the legitimate results of a free and fair election. They do NOT believe in democracy! They want the power to install their own leader in opposition to how a majority of American citizens voted.

Here, from The Hill, are the 24 GOP representatives who have announced their intention to oppose democracy:

Rep. Brian Babin (Texas)

Rep. Andy Biggs (Ariz.)

Rep.-elect Lauren Boebert (Colo.)
