Story: The Forgiven starts when a wealthy couple Jo (Chastain) and David (Fiennes) head to a remote Moroccan resort. It has become the playground for the rich as they walk over anyone below them. Richard (Smith) runs the resort and selects the guests and covers up the problems.
When David hits a local child on the way to the location, they look to cover up that problem. However, David is sent to meet people related to the boy and pay for his crimes. Jo gets to have some fun at the resort, while David is away paying for his crime.
Verdict on The Forgiven
The Forgiven is a drama following a rich man involved in an accident in Morocco. This sees him needing to go on a voyage of self-discovery with a grieving father, while his wife gets to enjoy the luxury resort. However, things start to change for the man who realises the mistakes he has been making in life.
This is a movie that gets to show how the rich believe they can get away with anything. That money can pay off their sins and must now learn the consequences of their actions. All while continuing to show the rich living their shallow lives. The performances are amazing, and this does feel like more people could have enjoyed this movie.
Final Thoughts – The Forgiven is a strong drama with a big message.
