The first time I went to Canhugas Nature Park was last October 2017. Though I was so tempted to go up “the rockies” during my initial visit, I decided to stay by the shore, utterly convinced that I will go back to Hernani in 2018. And so it happened.
When I got hooked with mountain climbing, going to the beach has become my last option. But Canhugas Nature Park is an exemption, because it offers you the best of both worlds! Despite rough and sharp rocks, I managed to climb and descend safely. To my surprise, the tour guide straightforwardly commented, “Ma'am akyat ka nang akyat, para kang unggoy!” Yeah, right. She likened me to a monkey! Ahaha! I just laughed because there’s probably truth to it. LOLs! No offense, just innocence.
Seeing beautiful rock formations and hearing the waves of the Pacific Ocean is a breathtaking experience way better than IMAX! But to enjoy nature’s marvels with new friends makes the overall package extra special. Indeed, Canhugas Nature Park is sweeter the second time around. (at Hernani, Eastern Samar, Philippines)
