Have you ever been at work, or out with friends and had a giant pimple show up out of nowhere?  How about a second date over garlic soup, and he’s moving in for the kiss?  These are these things that nightmares are made of.  To save you from all sorts of disasters, I have put together a, emergency skin care and grooming kit list for you.  Get these items, throw them in a ziplock, and toss into your briefcase, backpack, purse, or man bag.  You will be good to go no matter what mayhem shows up.

The List:

Eye Drops

Visine Totality Multi-Symptom Relief Eye Drops

Eye-drops are the easiest, fastest, and most inexpensive way to make you look younger. What??? Yes, when your eyes are clear and bright, it gives off the appearance of youthfulness. If you have been on travel your eyes might be red from dehydration, but your client might think you were out all night partying. A couple of eye drops could change the result of your meeting. My favorite is Totality Multi-Symptom Relief Eye Drops. I find that it works immediately, and leaves my eyes feeling conditioned. If you wear contacts, use the re-wetting drops that your doctor recommends.

Pimple Spot Treatment

Murad Clean Scene Crazy for Clear Spot Treatment

It does not matter what age you are, the errant pimple will find it’s way to your face at one point or another. Usually it chooses to erupt on an important day, like your first television interview, your promotion review with your boss, or the first time you might your husband’s ex-wife. To eradicate this nuisance, use a spot treatment designed to treat breakouts. My recommendation is Murad’s Crazy for Clear Spot Treatment. This powerful treatment contains:

  • Salicylic Acid, a beta hydroxy acid, works to exfoliate dead skin cells and banishes breakouts
  • Yumberry, an exotic Chinese wonder and powerful antioxidant
  • Zinc Gluconate, a natural amino acid used for its antiseptic properties, helps to leave skin soft and smooth

Fine Mist Hydrator

        Evian Brumisateur Facial Spray

This little spray bottle of finely-misted water is an absolute must for your emergency kit.  at 1.7oz. it is smll enough to take on the plane with you as well.  Whenever your skin is feeling less than optimal, simply spritz this hydrator all over your face (even over makeup), and you will see immediate results.

Under Eye Brightener

Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener

I love this eye brightener for so many reasons.  First, it works.  With five shades to choose from, you are sure to get a close match to your skin color.  Second, it comes with its own makeup brush installed–this makes it incredibly handy for your emergency kit.  Finally, it is flexible–you can use it above or below your makeup.

Lip stick/Gloss/Balm

    Melvita Lip Stick

This is the ideal lip balm if you are in need of a repairing, protective, hydrating and softening lip product.  Keep it in your kit for those chapped lip days that are sure to make you lipstick look awful.  Another great use for this amazing balm is to put it on your ragged cuticles between manicures. It smoothes out even the roughest of lips.

Mini Nail Files

        EcoTools BAMBOO Mini Nail Files

Miniature nail files that fit into your emergency kit, and are good for the environment.  Keep these with you so that the minor snag doesn’t become a mani-emergency.

Mini-Toothbrushes

         Colgate Wisp Toothbrush

These teeny tiny toothbrushes allow you to freshen up your teeth (and breath) anywhere. That’s why they are perfect for your emergency kit.  What makes these extra-awesome is that they don’t require any water at all.  If you haven’t already given them a try, I think you will be very pleasantly surprised.

Protection from UV Rays

La RochePosay Anthelios 15 Sunscreen (water resistant)

This is a powerful low SPF (15) Sunscreen that protects your skin from UV rays, is water resistant, and moisturizes your skin all day long.  This is a perfect sunscreen for those who are not spending their entire day out side.  An SPF of 15 is the lowest SPF I recommend for anyone, and really only for those who spend their working day inside.  However, in an emergency, this sunscreen will do beautifully without being too thick or greasy.
