The Easy Tip Series - One tip to help authors and artists become better social media users and sell more!
If you have followed me for a while, you know how much I love Twitter. I have used it since 2008 to connect and engage with people, especially fellow artists, and uncover gems. It's actually my number one platform for research.
Google Search is great, but nothing beats Twìtter Search for targeted results.
How? Cue in TweetDeck!
TweetDeck is a fantastic real-time monitoring tool for Twitter. You can display multiple timelines and manage several accounts in one spot! Other features include the ability to schedule posts, creating / maintaining lists, and more!
Here is an example with my TweetDeck dashboard.
Here are some of the things what you can monitor via TweetDeck:
- notifications about your account(s) - Mentions, retweets, quoted tweets, likes, followers, lists, actions on RTs / Tweets you're mentioned in / Tweets you're tagged in
- your name
- your blog's or website's name
- your domain name
- Individual links to what you post on your blog or elsewhere - Just enter a permalink or title in Search
- your slogan, videos, announcements, etc.
- specific hashtags
- specific keywords - this is especially important to catch negative mentions. Try combining keywords like "book title / blog name + fail / bad / negative / unhappy."
The results of each search will appear in one dedicated column.
