Marks and Spencer's offering when it comes to beauty has improved significantly of late, with them now stocking brands including Pixi, Stila, Nails Inc, Emma Hardie - but to name a few. Up until now though I had never paid too much attention to their own make up line - Autograph. However, when I saw that they were teaming up with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to create the Rosie for Autograph range, I became intrigued and was drawn in by both the beautiful rose gold packaging on offer and the whispers of Chanel-esque comparisons. The verdict? I wasn't disappointed.
There are a number of stand out products in the range - the lipsticks and the cream blushes being two of my faves (if you want a quick review of these, there's one over on my Instagram page). Today though, I wanted to concentrate on what for me are the stars of the show - the cream eye-shadow sticks. Though the shade range isn't as extensive as the sought after By Terry Ombre Blackstars, the staying power and blend-ability are just as good if not better. And the shades that are available are particularly beautiful.
If you're a fan of the cult favorite 'Misty Rock' then 'Movie Star Crush' is a must have as it bears striking similarities as does 'Feline Fox' to the shade 'Bronze Moon'. My two favourites amid the bunch though, are what I would consider to be the more unique shades - both with a golden shimmer but at either end of the spectrum. 'Almond Eyes' - the lighter shade of the two provides a subtle wash of pale gold, perfect for day to day wear, where as 'Sparkle & Magic' is much darker combining what I would describe as being a hint of gunmetal iridescence to it - suitable for more of an evening make up menu.
When I swatched these originally - three hand washes and a rather lengthy bath time later, the remnants could still be seen - some impressive wearability right there! And, at less than half the price of the Ombre Blackstars, this offering provides some stiff competition.
