Centerville was a rather peaceful town but not for long when it finds itself battling against zombies when the dead start rising from their graves. Can Chief Cliff Robertson and Officer Ronnie Peterson do enough to save people?

⭐️⭐️

The Dead Don't Die is probably more disappointing than it is bad as it seriously had the potential to do something similar to Zombieland in the whole horror comedy style. Unfortunately it is then left no where near that as it fails on the comedy side. I'm not really sure how that was entirely possible when you have Bill Murray in one of the leading roles and the incredible Adam Driver alongside him, but it just didn't work how I would have liked.

It has the usual build up to people actually finding out about the zombies but then we also get thrown in Zelda Winston a very bizarre character who is pretty amazing with a machete, quite helpful when you need to kill the head to kill a zombie right? But then you throw in the strange spaceship and you have one very messed up and confused film.

Considering the very impressive cast line up in this film you really do expect a lot more, I was disappointed to have missed the film on its cinema release but I guess I can now understand why it was not out for very long. Probably releasing it the same year as the second Zombieland film was a mistake as well, it was always going to be compared to that.

The violence of the zombies eating the flesh which mainly seemed to be stomachs was pretty graphic so we will take that as a positive considering the whole flesh eating that zombies do, so at least they didn't try and make that into nothing. So more of a shame really when you have Tilda Swinton, Steve Buscemi, Danny Glover, Chloe Sevigny as the support players and Iggy Pop, Selena Gomez in more like cameo roles. I almost forgot Carol Kane having a very small part as well!

I mean isn't Murray and Driver the dream idea of a pair in a zombie film? I certainly thought so, such a shame they were given two very wooden characters and the highlight was probably Ronnie (Driver) going crazy chopping the heads of the zombies off in the final scene. Other than that though I don't really recall laughing at anything as it just wasn't really that funny.
