Writer: Luke Passmore (Screenplay)
Starring: Shawn Ashmore, Brianna Barnes, Ashley Bell, Brayden Edwards, Michael Eklund, Steffi Hagel, Cory Hardrict, Dominic Monaghan, Shannyn Sossamon
Plot: When four friends Adam (Ashmore), Henson (Hardrict), Rick (Monaghan) and Shannon (Sossamon) traveling in a post-apocalyptic are joined by a stranger Mary (Bell) things take a turn. The group find a farmhouse but that is just bait for a family led by Father (Eklund), this family just happens to be cannibals and Mary has a score to settle with them.
Verdict: Horror simple and gory
Story: We never learn why the world in now in a post-apocalyptic state, I personally thought this was going to be a vampire themed film but I was wrong. Cannibals would come off scarier as they have been and are real. The survival side of the film works well with low rations and ammo. What they do with the said ammo is very questionable and from it looks like they have survived for a while now and they fall for a simple trap. The story is not new, it does not add anything to the genre and once the action starts it all over too quickly. (4/10)
Actor Review: Shawn Ashmore – Adam he has lost his family during the time on the road but has some good in him but no brains. Shawn does well with what he has to work with and key for him is unrecognisable in role, but doesn’t end up being a character we care enough about. (6/10)
Actor Review: Ashely Bell – The quiet stranger with a score to settle. Ashley is good in this, she ends up kicking everyone ass and being one of the only positives from the film. Kick Ass Award (8/10)
Actor Review: Michael Eklund – Father the leader of the cannibals. Michael looks like he has created a very twisted character but never get enough screen time to show how twisted his character ever was. (4/10)
Director Review: Douglas Aarniokoski – Fails to create any atmosphere in what should be a dark film but was brave enough to put a couple of real shock scenes in. (5/10)
Action: Some fights and gun battles but nothing special enough to remember. (7/10)
Horror: What should be a very scarier situation doesn’t come off too well. (5/10)
Special Effects: Some poor special effects here with clear CGI blood splatter. (2/10)
Believability: In the future something similar could well be likely to happen but now nope not believable. (2/10)
Chances of Tears: (0/10)
Settings: Isolation works for the genre and being trapped in a house makes good location that is never executed properly. (7/10)
Suggestion: Poor addition to the genre with some well-known names involved anyone who sees this will end up feeling very disappointed. (Avoid)
Best Part: The shock final scene.
Worst Part: Dull build up
Action Scene Of The Film: Final fight
Kill Of The Film: Shannon
Trivia: This is Dominic Monaghan first role as an American.
Oscar Chances: None
Chances of Sequel: Could have one but I hope not
Overall: Poor effort in the horror genre
