I'll be honest: The only purchases I made over Black Friday weekend were gifts for others. But today? I'm gifting myself with a Cyber Week sale I couldn't miss-50% off Talbots! New Arrivals, clearance, apparel, accessories, and more-this is the best time of the year to shop Talbots, and I will share what I got, what I recommend, and styling tips, too!

This post is sponsored by Talbots

I've loved for decades. As I shared in a recent edition of , my monthly exclusive newsletter, I switched out my closet for the new season, and it's no surprise that the majority of what I kept from last year for this winter is Talbots. Great quality, great style that transcends trends, and a fit that feels almost custom for my petite curves, I always have success at Talbots. It is even better when such quality, style, and fit are 50% off and free shipping, no minimum!

Talbots provided me the opportunity to shop the 50% off Cyber Week sale early, and I wanted to share what I got, what I thought, what else caught my eye during this excellent sale, and some styling tips to get the most miles from your purchases!

My Picks from the Talbots Cyber Week Sale

The Talbots Cyber Week sale is TODAY, December 2, 2024, and it's 50% off sitewide (select items excluded and noted as such on the site). Thank you to Talbots for the opportunity to shop the sale early so I can pass on my shopping tips to you, the Wardrobe Oxygen Community. Here's what I got and what I thought:

What I Bought and What I Thought

I used this sale to buy a bit of need and a bit of want. I wanted things I could wear now, but like so much I'd be pulling them out to wear for many winters to come. I've learned that versatile doesn't have to mean boring or basic and that sometimes the most fun pieces are the ones that last the longest in my closet. And without further ado, what I got and thought:

Talbots Sequin Stripe Turtleneck Sweater

A navy and white Breton stripe sweater with sequins? I can't think of a garment that is more me. I had admired this sweater all season long, and it was even more appealing at 50% off. As a 5'3″ tall, curvy size 14/16, and knowing the fit of Talbots, I ordered this sweater in size Large Regular.

I love it. If you follow me on Instagram Stories, you know I wore this sweater to our friend's house for a casual indoor/outdoor Thanksgiving. I styled it with Talbots Barely Boot jeans, brown leather clogs, and a long wool coat (also Talbots from a previous year) that I embellished with a fall-themed brooch (also Talbots from a few years ago).

The look was the perfect mix of casual and festive. And the sequins on the sweater weren't itchy, and the turtleneck was loose and comfortable.

Talbots Metallic Chainmail Clutch

Talbots sales like this is when I stock up on accessories. Talbots makes high-quality bags, belts, jewelry, and scarves, and I find they last in my wardrobe for decades while also getting worn regularly. I fell in love with this gold clutch and had to get it during the sale.

This bag is even nicer in person. While it's described as chain mail, it's actually tiny gold crystals secured in gold. No prongs to snag on your outfit; the bag is lined with two card pockets and a removable gold chain strap long enough for me to wear as a crossbody. And showing the quality and attention to detail, the hooks for the removable strap tuck into the bag so they're not visible if you carry it as a clutch. This bag is so classic I can see myself carrying it decades from now.

Talbots Button Mockneck Sweater - Sequin Deer

I'm not really the kind of person who wears holiday-themed sweaters, but when I saw this navy sweater with a sequin deer on the front, I had to have it. Based on customer reviews, I worried the sweater would be too snug on my bust and make the deer appliqué hang weirdly, so I sized up to XL.

I would have been fine with Large, but I still love this sweater. The knit is super soft, the sequins on the deer are high quality and overlapped for an elevated effect, and they beautifully match the functioning shoulder buttons. If you visit LTK, you can see how I wore it for my husband's Friday Thanksgiving meal, styled with these velveteen pants from Talbots that I had in my holiday capsule wardrobe.

Talbots Half-Zip Sweater in Wintry Geo Fair Isle

I love a quarter-zip sweater and this black and white modern Fair Isle print with the red pull tag looked so fresh and cozy and versatile. I chose it in size Large and think it's a perfect fit.

I've styled the sweater with ivory corduroy pants, black wide-leg ponte trousers, and regular jeans. Depending on your base layer, you can dress this up or down, and it's an excellent fit to wear over a t-shirt (I'd love a black and white striped one) or turtleneck. The quality is really nice, and the sweater is dense yet soft and warm.

I wore it just this past weekend to have coffee with a friend in town. I styled this sweater with black ponte pants, which I've owned for a while, and tennis shoes. It was so comfy but looked elevated.

What Else I Recommend From this Talbots Sale

This weekend, I went to a mall with my daughter and took a quick peek into Talbots to see the online items IRL to best determine what are the best buys from this 50% off sale:

  • Ribbed Turtleneck Sweaters: I have the 2022 version of this striped turtleneck and I love it. These are thin enough to be a base layer, but can also stand on their own. The ribbing makes these turtlenecks look fancier, and I love wearing them under blazers, tucked into midi skirts, and layered under chunky cableknits. Here's the link to solids (misses, petite, plus), and here's the link to stripes (misses, petite, plus).
  • Luxe Sweaters: I almost chose this sweater (misses, petite, plus, plus petite) for the Talbots Cyber Week Sale, but I worried I wouldn't like it as much in person as I did online. Then I saw it in person and kicked myself... and then I came home and placed it in my virtual shopping cart. It's lofty and luxe, and the buttons sparkle so beautifully. Every color is gorgeous.
  • A Substantial Slip Skirt: This skirt (misses, petite, plus) has a gorgeous weight of satin, gorgeous drape that is less slip and more of a fluid a-line. is elegant, elevated, and timeless. With a camisole and delicate sandals in the summer, a cashmere turtleneck and tall boots in winter, and the Occasion Cardigan (misses, petite, plus) and flats for the holidays... it's a good buy.
  • High-Quality Costume Jewelry: Whether it's for slamming up for New Year's Eve or attending a spring wedding, a bit of sparkle can complete your look. My friend wore these earrings on Thanksgiving, and they're gorgeous. I love the smoky color of these earrings and matching and stretch bracelet. They look even nicer in person.
  • Statement Flats: The Edison Bow Flat is a Talbots classic that I highly recommend all year long. But when I saw this plaid version in person, I was in love. The fabric is a beautiful velvet that catches the light which makes the plaid design muted but the colors vivid so they almost look holographic. These don't have to read holiday and would look chic with everything from to ball skirts.
  • Confetti Plaid: The Confetti Plaid Long Coat (misses, petite, plus, plus petite) and matching A-Line Skirt (misses, petite, plus) didn't call it to me online, but when I saw them in person at Talbots I made a beeline to examine more closely. It looks so expensive and also so timeless. The plaid is pretty, but the "confetti" is what makes it as they are 3D and add texture as well as color. The pieces look great together, or separately. I like with gray, denim, shades of pink, or a lavender sweater like this one to pick up the color of the "confetti."
  • Cashmere: I love Talbots Cashmere and have many that have held up beautifully for years. Stock up if you like a , , turtleneck, or the Talbots iconic Audrey sweaters (all in misses, petite, plus, plus petite), but also check out the print cashmere (I especially like and ) and this fab oversized turtleneck that looks so cozy!

Over the years I have really come to know Talbots for fit, styling, and quality. If you have any questions, let me know in the comments so I can assist you with your shopping. And let me know below what you bought from the Talbots 50% off Cyber Week sale!
