The Cooper Kit Review

By Bloggerfather @bloggerfather
A box of toys and books that celebrates fatherhood? Who would have thought??
I recently got an email on behalf of Cooper & Kid, the company making The Cooper Kit:
Each kit contains activities that fit within a theme (i.e. the first kit's theme is "Fly with Me"). Whether dads have 1 hour or an entire weekend to spend with their kids, the Cooper Kit will give dads and their kids tons of special bonding activities that will create many memories. The kit is designed for girls and boys ages 5+.
Cooper & Kid’s inaugural Cooper Kit, “How Things Fly,” contains a hand-picked selection of activities including a “flight manual” guide to the box, catapult building kit, biplane building kit, parachute man, sky lantern, themed dinner menu with recipes and bedtime story, missile launcher, online resources, and more. Nichole Smaglick, Cooper & Kid founder and CEO, develops each box along with a professional team that includes toy buyers, graphic designers and a variety of dads, to ensure the contents initiate the creation of real memories, father-child bonding, and the opportunity for dads to cater the experiences to personal family interests.

I requested a review copy, which looked a little something like this. The kit comes in this unassuming white box, but once you open it, you get overwhelmed by all the items, and so are your kids. I was home with my 3-year-old girl, and her instincts pushed her to the paratrooper she could throw in the air and watch as he slowly descended. Then her instincts pushed her to everything else, because if a paratrooper can be thrown up and fall down, everything else can too!

So I had to cut that session a little short. We did end up building the small, 3-piece butterfly, which was lucky, because the next day was Show & Tell in my 5-year-old's class, and the letter of the week was B. I love it when a plan comes together.

It's a cool gift, and a great idea for a Father's Day present. You can get it at the Cooper & Kid website, as long as you pay $65.
Here are some more words from Nichole Smaglick, the founder of Cooper & Kid,
Through our Cooper Kits, Cooper & Kid seeks to bring fathers and children closer through inspiring and meaningful activities that they both will enjoy together, while also sparking a sense of childhood nostalgia for dads.
Can't argue with that.
