If it’s quite obvious that we don’t live in a fairy tale – of that kind we can read in books – it is also true that each of us has her tricks to feel like a urban princess.
So, today I’ve decided to talk about the most classic of the accessory starting from here.
‘Once upon a time’ there was a common cliché that used to associate to the word “ring” an idea, perhaps an icon. The object that my grandmother wore – and still wears today – for important occasions. The symbol of endless love. This is the “brilliant ring” made of white gold, rimless-bright and shining like a star. The same diamond that someone is now labeling as the advertising quote “a diamond is forever” and that someone else is hoping to get – as a gift – sooner or later.
Personally, I don’t have the ring of my dreams, but I know instinctively what strikes me. Unconventional, whimsical, colorful, eye-catching and very often inspired by nature – in the colors and shapes.
A colored butterfly made by Luke Hovrat, a laburious bee – that promises not to sting – proposed by Schield, an owl vintage-inspired one -I bought from Accessorize.
Opulence, extravagance and originality or a simple element that is repeated in series, where the shapes and the manifactures are mixed and composed. A common thread – the yellow gold – in the case of Balenciaga or an amalgam of
combinations of colors and surfaces.
The diktat seems to have changed in form, but perhaps not in substance.
Exuberance, profusion and excess for the most common of the dailywear accessory… but does not always respond to that same desire to be noticed, hit and stand out!?!?

Se è vero che non viviamo in una favola – di quelle che si leggono sui libri – è anche vero che ognuna di noi ha i suoi trucchi per sentirsi una principessa urbana. E oggi decido di parlare del più classico degli accessori iniziando da qui:
“C’era una volta un’immaginario collettivo, un cliché che alla parola anello associava un’idea, forse un’icona. Quell’oggetto che mia nonna indossava – e indossa ancora oggi – per le occasioni importanti. E’ “il solitario” con il brillante senza montatura di oro bianco- Splendente e lucente come una stella. Quel diamante che qualcuno oggi definisce “essere per sempre” e che qualcun altro spera di ricevere in dono prima o poi.
Personalmente non ho l’anello dei mie sogni, ma so cosa istintivamente mi colpisce. Non convezionale, estroso, colorato, vistoso e molto spesso ispirato alla natura – nei colori e nel forme.
Una farfalla di Luca Hovrat, un’ape – che promette di non pungere – di ….., una civetta di ispirazione vintage.
Oppure un elemento semplice che si ripete in serie, dove le forme e le lavorazioni si mischiano e si compongono. Un unico filo conduttore – l’oro giallo – nel caso di Balenciaga oppure un’amalgama di
accostamenti di colore e i giochi di cromie.
Il diktat sembra essere cambiato nella forma, ma forse non nella sostanza.
Esuberanza, profusione e eccesso…ma non risponde sempre a quella stessa voglia di farsi notare, di colpire e distinguersi?!?
