Faye and Wayne’s spring wedding is a delicious combination of English elegance and sophistication. Their contemporary and fun wedding theme teams stylish accessories in chocolate brown colour tones with just the right dash of sparkle and a stunning bouquet.
Wayne and Faye’s fun, contemporary wedding day!
The happy couple were married at St Marys Parish church in Hilton in Derbyshire in March. The main weather was windy – which meant brilliant fun with Faye’s veil and some outstanding photos from wedding photographer Chris Hanley.
The reception was at one of Hand Picked Hotels fantastic wedding venues, the Priest House on the river at Castle Donnington on the Derbyshire / Notts border.
This is a wedding to make you smile and wish you were there. A wedding with everything you’d want on your big day: playful moments, romance, glamour and that oh so English sense of sophistication.
The exquisite details, beautifully photographed…
The most elegant of contemporary wedding flowers: white calla lilies
Wayne – confident, happy and looking great: the modern bridegroom to a T.
Raising a glass to the wedding venue (literally – nice!)
Bride Faye is beautiful. She looks so composed, to her fingertips! I love this moment of calm and serenity before the day begins. Part of being a bride is relishing the moment; playing the role you’ve looked forward to for so long – and taking the time to absolutely LOVE every second of the experience!
The coolest of wedding cars – classic English style
A gorgeous English classic – the wedding car is a Morris Minor, polished up to the nines and looking fantastic. Beats a Rolls Royce for me every time.
Capturing every second of the adventure… Faye’s swept into the church on the breeze! Just time for a few last minute adjustments (and don’t you just love how this gorgeous bride keeps smiling!)
These are the moments that stay with you: the wind blowing a gale as you stand outside the church, the veil wrapped around your face, Dad’s smile and the laughter…
…and the solemnity of the church service, the beauty of your vows, the wedding ring on your finger. The light in this photo is a lovely mystery: candles, magic?
This bit is magic. A peacock butterfly settles to witness the signatures in the church register.
The wedding reception is at Handpicked Hotels’ Priest House in Derbyshire. It’s a gorgeous wedding venue dating back a thousand years, and the original water wheels were mentioned in the Domesday book – so for a wedding venue with a meaningful history, Priest House Hotel is outstanding.
Fun and contemporary luxury wedding photography at its best!
These are the pictures I really love – the ones that capture the spirit of celebration in a wedding. Faye and Wayne’s friends and family really enjoy being a part of the photos – and it looks like so much fun!
There’s no denying that Wayne is over the moon to be married! And how fab to have such great friends to celebrate with.
The girls also know how to party! Faye and her best friends and family strike a pose and those smiles are wonderful. (Loving the purples as well ladies – you ALL look amazing!!!)
Wedding details – sophisticated chocolate tones and sparkle
Get Faye and Wayne’s wedding day look with a dash of gold, a sprinkle of sparkle and plenty of lush chocolate brown colours…
Beautifully crafted tags at the wedding breakfast are courtesy of Nottinghamshire based Tillyboo Events, who specialise in wedding planning and venue styling – promising “limitless creativity that celebrates your unique sense of style” – and delivering it so well.
Understated elegance, shine and sparkle on the top table. The votives are a wonderfully chocolatey colour – I love these!
A nice wedding table plan: individual tables printed and decorated with a 5mm chocolate ribbon tie – simply arranged on a table at the entrance to the wedding breakfast room. A nice alternative to the traditional wedding table plan board.
Some contemporary chic wedding images…
Wayne and Faye take a little time before the wedding breakfast to have these stunning pictures taken. I love the contrast of light and dark, the soft shadows of trees on the wall and most of all those happy, relaxed smiles.
The passion in this picture is stunning – as is the image itself of course – by one of the UK’s finest wedding photographers.
Capturing the essence of this historic wedding venue – in the footsteps of many a romantic couple over the last millennium. The perfect picture to end on, I thought!
I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing Faye and Wayne’s wedding photos. Chris Hanley Photography is a favourite of mine as I’m sure all English Wedding regulars will know! I love the mixture of stylish and striking fashion images, with those brilliant group shots with friends and family.
