THE BOWERY, New York City, New York

Sitting in The Bowery’s lobby, I was transported to another place…somewhere warm and lush, like a luxurious spot in Havana. The space, dimly lit by yellow lighting, was cooled by the slow spin of the great ceiling fans. The mixture of dark wood, rich velvet chairs, palm trees (said to be made of silk), and peacock feathers exemplified Bohemian-chic at its best.

The hotel, at only 4 and a half years old, feels much more historic due to the detailing of the mosaics and the intentional wear on the wood, something that owners Sean MacPherson and Eric Goode wanted in creating the property’s character.

The photos here definitely do not do The Bowery justice. And whether you’re visiting New York or a native looking to have a mini vacation in the city, The Bowery will surely take you somewhere dreamy, the perfect escape from it all.
