Short Excerpt

Now that Quentin knew exactly what lay beneath the baggy trousers and loose fitting

shirt, he stood captivated by her, stunned he had ever thought her a boy.
Ally’s gentle touch with the horses went beyond good horsemanship. The horses flicked their ears back and forth when she talked to them and swished their tails in appreciation of her calming manner. Hell, he wanted to be one of those horses.

 MY REVIEW:
The Blacksmith's Son by Rebecca Thomas is a Entangled publication. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
When Quentin discovers a youth being beaten, he intervenes. The boy is knocked out, but Quentin carries him home and gets the shock of his life when he finds that the boy is a girl. A very beautiful girl that loves horses and is hiding a dark secret. When people show up looking for Ally, Quinton knows the girl is in some kind of trouble. Is Ally on the run for a crime she committed or she is on the run because of some other reason?
With each day Ally and Quentin get closer through their mutual interest in horses and their attraction to one another. Ally learns that they have a connection through her former employee and neither of them have had a great experience with the man.
There is a bit of a mystery involving Quentin's sister and what drove her to make the decision she made before she died.
This novella is recommended for historical romance lovers and especially those of you that love horses. A quick, easy read that could lead into a more in depth novel for some of the characters in this story. Overall this one is a B.
