Your face forever etched in my soul When time freezes and keeps us apart My tears freeze over and so does my heart Selfishly I want more Is this wrong? To question what for? Why does the darkness pull us apart? The light always so far away Unable to reach, it breaks my heart Darkness all around How I tried to avoid it but into the tunnel I spiral Deep within, I plummet Dark arms reaching out as my fear abounds Heart skipping beats, I try to push it down Striking like a snake, Quick as the speed of light Coiled within its embrace, The fangs of darkness bite Deeply I breathe, shutting my eyes tight Slowly I envision, the birth of light It takes me away as my thoughts command I can see for the first time My eyes remain closed, but I understand I enter the light, Together we grow It roots deep within, the depth of my soul Shadows overtaken, Becoming light particles For without the dark, life would not material It is nature’s design, Simple yet complex Darkness + light = life It is so easy I am left perplexed I reach the end of the tunnel, As I will it in my mind I had to go through the darkness So that the light could enter and shine Facing my fears and trusting the light , Closing my eyes that I may see Cradled within the Unseen Hand, Allowing the Spirit to guide me Together we walk through the heavens My mind opens, I begin to see Gods’ wondrous creation, Completely surrounding me Mother Nature is a teacher I’ve learned to flow with the tide Everything has a reason, It is all part of the great design One in need of the other The twinkle of the stars, The darkness of the sky Our endless quest for knowledge Hidden within sight Defy the laws of gravity, Travel the constellations Jump one planet to the next, Believe in imagination This is when the equation is solved The otherside is within vision At last my thirst is quenched I have seen the land of wisdom It is there I saw standing, with arms opened wide Eager you are to greet me, As we embrace The otherside By Renee Robinson
