The Best of the Spring-Summer 2017 Menswear Ad Campaigns

By Attireclub @attireclub

The collections for the spring-summer 2017 season have been long out and the campaigns for the collections have followed shortly. Now that the season is here, it’s time to revisit the campaigns and take a plunge the in magical worlds proposed by fashion labels from around the world.

Discover the best of the ad campaigns designed for the spring 2017 season.

Paul Taylor

British model George Alsford traveled to Rome with Paul Taylor to shoot the label’s spring ad campaign. With a charming smile and beautiful clothes, the campaign mixed the best of more worlds than one. The photos present a private, sunny and restraint version of the Eternal City.

Strellson

Shot in downtown Los Angeles, the Strellson campaign focused on a minimalist aesthetic, focusing on simplifying intricate fashion concepts. Even more complex concepts, such as mixing stripes were done with simplicity.

Christian Louboutin

Going for an Avatar-ish aesthetic, the Christian Louboutin menswear ad campaign was definitely out of this world. The brand went all out to translate the cookie designs from the collection in a full-blown imaginary world.

Theory

Model Nicolas Ripoll was the man of the season for Theory. Going for a simple setup, the campaign channeled old-time elegance and universal intellectual clothes. We really enjoyed the power of these images, which were so simple in the end. It is true that the best things are the simplest things.

Sunspel

Models Jane Moseley and Will Dailey head out to the beach in this photo from the Sunspel spring 2017 ad campaign. We really loved the overall campaign as it introduced us to a rather forgotten concept: going to the beach with the guys, no phones, no distractions.

Cerruti 1881

Cerruti 1881 translated their clothes into a décor for their spring –summer 2017 campaign: simple, cool and collected. The brand managed to keep the décor simple to let the clothes shine, but strong enough to support them. Great job!

Mr Porter

Mr Porter went to Cape Town to shoot their spring 2017 campaign. The setting was well chosen, as the photos mix great clothes from various brands, just as the South African capital mixes ideas and cultures.

Aquascutum

Model Jake Shortall finds himself in a naïve poppy filed in the Aquascutum spring-summer ad campaign. The fantastic salon pictures were shot by photographer Ash Reynolds and depicted a great, modern and credible version of a classic 18th century salon.

Massimo Dutti

Massimo Dutti is a brand known for its masculine, strong and elegant aesthetic. For their spring-summer 2017 ad campaign, the label presented model Benjamin Eiden in very boyish, yet mature photos. We really love the honest approach to this decade’s version of adulthood.

Ports

Marian Kurpanov starred in the Ports spring-summer 2017 ad campaign which featured a timeless aesthetic. Not only were the sunglasses extremely versatile and cool, but the setup as a whole was extremely well thought-through, which made it timeless.

Ad campaigns are a really fantastic part of the fashion world because they do not showcase only clothes, but a whole lifestyle view. They give the clothes context, which makes them more 3D and more organic. In the end, clothing without context is nothing in our daily lives…
