The Best of 2014

Phewww, what a year it’s been! I started this little ol’ blog a little over a year ago but truth be told I only got serious about it maybe 9 months ago. I’ve come a long way baby! I know I’m not a crazy big blog and I haven’t had anything go super viral (yet!) so my momentum has been slow but steady and upwards. It’s truly a marathon for me! I am so grateful for you, my readers. Whether you read on a regular basis or just pop in once in awhile to check things out. I am so appreciative for your support, comments and friendship! For those of you who are new to my blog, I thought you might like to get a quick year in review of my top 10 most popular posts. It’s like the cliff notes version of my blog. Enjoy!

#10 DIY Fabric Wall Treatment

I still love my DIY fabric wall. It adds such a nice punch of style to our living space. I will be so sad to ever take it down!

#9 Milk Paint Tutorial For Control Freaks

If you have been reading my blog for awhile you know I have used just about every type of furniture paint out there and I fell in love with the look of milk paint. But there can be a learning curve and it’s a bit unpredictable. This tutorial takes a bit of the guess work out of the equation.

#8 DIY Lemon and Coconut Oil Sugar Scrub

This scrub is a favorite of mine! It’s so easy to make and it’s great to have on hand to give as gifts.

#7 How to Make New Doors Look Old

Sometimes you find beautiful old antique doors. Sometimes you find new doors just laying on the side of the road. This tutorial will teach you a technique to make those new doors look old.

#6 3 Tips for Styling Your Coffee Table in the Real World

You live in your own house right? While a magazine worthy coffee table to fun, it’s not always practical. Here are some tips to styling your coffee table so you can actually live with it.

#5 The Easiest Way to Disguise Your Router

This was a popular post folks And surprisingly controversial. I was scolded quiet a few times from readers who did not like my method and swear that I will block the signal and overheat the router. I haven’t encountered either of those problems in the time I have used a book to hide the router. So make your own call on this one!

#4 Easy Vintage Map Pillows

This is probably one of my favorite projects! I love the look of old maps and coming up with new ways to incorporate them into your decor.

#3 Why I’m Cheating on Chalk Paint

Here is your first introduction to milk paint folks. Yes, I changed teams from Team Chalk Paint to Team Milk Paint. Milk Paint quickly became and still is my go to paint for that farmhouse vintage look.

#2 Fall Home Tour

Ok, all you nosey folks out there! I love it that you are as nosey as I am when it comes to checking out other people’s homes! I bet you even look in the medicine cabinet don’t you?

And the Most Popular Post of 2014 was……

#1 Vintage Map Ornament

See I told you I love maps! This post got a healthy boost when it was featured on Country Living.com. It might be a bit late now for Christmas but pin it for next year’s crafting projects.

For those of you that made it to the end of this post, come on back on New Year’s Day for a special announcement. 2015 is going to be a great year!
